CHILDREN’S AUTHOR   |   THUMB SUCKING COACH

Rosi Ngwenya lives on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, and is an unofficial collector of sunrises, short course certificates and pens.

Rosi was born in the small kingdom of Swaziland (now eSwatini) and moved to the small island of Tasmania, Australia with her family when she was just a toddler. She first discovered her love for entertaining children when she worked as a children’s face painter for major supermarkets and AFL football games.

Rosi completed a degree in Oral Health Science at La Trobe University in Victoria and graduated in 2011. Soon after University, she felt the coast calling and relocated to Warrnambool, a town at the end of the stunning and iconic Great Ocean Road. Professionally, Rosi has always had an interest in interest in all things holistic health and it lead her to study more in Early Intervention Orthodontics, Breathing Behaviours and Orofacial Myology.

Today, Rosi spends her days writing, working as an Oral Health Therapist for children in the Noosa and helping thumb suckers online. Rosi is inspired by her background in science and loves being around children. Whether it’s making up silly songs, bringing bacteria to life and teaching children how to look after their mouths – Rosi believes in making every moment fun, laughing loudly and not taking yourself too seriously.

About

“We must make time for joy.”

Rosi has always loved writing. Whether it be short stories, personal reflections or songs for her friends theres never a journal and pen too far away (don’t even ask her about her pen collection!). For fun, Rosi always wants to try something new: hip hop dancing, tennis, hula hooping or surfing – she’ll give it a go!
